Akio Sobue’s Axon TC10/2

I already posted about it on Facebook back in early March, when the latest TC10/2 version conversion kit for the Yokomo BD10 was released by Axon, but here is a chance to have a closer look at the car of Akio Sobue.

The video is recorded before this weekends ETS round, but after the Worlds testing in Gubbio Italy.

At the XRS race in Gubbio Akio TQ’ed one round and finished the race second overall. At the ETS this weekend Akio again TQ’d one qualifying round in his first ETS race for years, and finished second.

On another note, that got me thinking that c-hub cars with drivers that usually don’t win have now won the last two ETS rounds, and this weekend the biggest competition was from a car with what some would call ancient plastic suspension with c-hub’s and pins. Don’t know if that has provoked any thoughts with anyone else…

Here’s another video from the same channel on the Worlds etc., but obviously difficult to follow if you don’t know Japanese (even with translated subtitles).

I have the same feeling, that the C-Hub geometry has its benefits. For sure robustness and larger camber gain are a plus over the double A-arm design.
