TRF JMRCA 2023 Special Cars

The JMRCA All Japan TC Championship 2023 took place earlier in the year, and back then I reported on the race and the good success of Tamiya and TRF drivers.

The Open class winning TRF420X of Ryoma Yoshida was shown right after the race, but the cars of the factory designers and drivers were not shown, although I tried to shed some light on them anyway.

Last year, the cars used at the 2022 JMRCA All Japan TC Championship, were shown at the final Tamiya Challenge race of the 2022 season, so my hopes were that this would be the case again this year.

The Tamiya Challenge Cup Final Race 2023 is taking place this weekend, and I was pleased to find that there is indeed again a TRF display at the race, showing a couple of the cars used at the race, including the prototypes of Tamiya / TRF employees Kiyo Suzuki and Souta Goto.

We’ll have to do with these low quality images for now, but hopefully we’ll get some better photos or videos of the cars on display soon.

The modified TRF420X prototype of Kiyo Suzuki (TRF designer), used to finish 5th in the Open class at the JMRCA TC Champs.

These last two images that I lightened and enlargened show the TRF prototype used by Souta Goto to finish fourth in the modified Super Expert class.

On both cars you see things like shorter dampers, lower towers, a mid-spur layout, and perhaps a few more changes 😉

*UPDATE* with a better photo of Souta Goto’s TRF prototype TC.
