Theta Razor-DH1 Servos

With many cars to run and test this summer I needed to get another couple of servos, and this time I decided to try a servo from Theta – a manufacturer of servos which I don’t have any experience of yet.

The model I went for is the Razor-DH1, a high voltage, high-Torque, and low-profile brushless servo recommended for TC use by Theta. The Tamiya blue anodising on the front of the servo is of course no negative thing… 🙂

Measurements are 41*20.5*29.5mm, 60g.

Here’s the official product description on the servo:

High voltage, High-Torque, low profile size brushless servo. Ideal for 1/10 scale vehicles.

The Servos are at the top of their class due to their ability to be fully programmed via an Android NFC enabled smart phone. You can adjust things such as the center point, refresh rate, acceleration, as well as the PID control loop of the servo. You can make it feel however you want it to!

  • High Voltage
  • High Speed
  • Excellent Centering
  • Compatible with Futaba type horns/arms
  • Fully programmable via NFC enabled Android smart phones

Due to the SANWA SSR compatibility, the advantages of Sanwa Super Response transmission can be used in the RC car sector.

Look forward to trying the servos once tracks (and cars) are ready.

I got two of the servos as well as the separate servo programmer.

The first impression is everything looks good and feels like decent quality. Of course only serious use will tell more.

The accessories included:

1x Servo RAZOR-DH1
3x Servo horn
1x Screw M3
4x Rubber damper
4x Brass grommet
4x Tapping screw for servo

Below you see detailed specs of the servo with speed and torque at different voltage.
