Tamiya TRF420X – Coming Soon

The news that we have been waiting for has finally been published – the new TRF420X will be released soon by Tamiya.

Building on the excellent TRF420 platform, the new TRF420X has a new drivetrain layout. On first look, it appears that the motor remains in the same position, but with the spur gear moved in front of the motor, the belt lengths are more equal. To accomodate this, the motor mount and the the upper deck are obviously complete new designs.

The rear bulkheads are new, which can be seen from the rollbar bearing holders, and from how the most forward part of the bulkheads extends downward, possibly to act as a mounting point for the toe-link when using the TRF420 Toe Control Rear Suspension Set.

A rear flex adjustment plate is also seen in the first images of the TRF420X. Tape-less battery holders are also included with 420X.

Further details will be revealed soon.
